I thought the text and image project was a good example of how imagery is used in the media, and how it can be altered to change the perceptions of the intended audience.  The original image is a still from the music video for Miley's new song "Wrecking Ball".  In true Miley fashion, the video contains a lot of nudity and some licking of a sledgehammer? (you do you, girl) My mom and I were watching the video one day and my mom decided that maybe Miley sticks her tongue out and licks so many things because she has Pica Syndrome, a syndrome that causes ingestion of non nutritious items.  Ultimately, the media (and Miley) have portrayed Miley differently than who she was when she was younger, hanging out on the Disney channel.  But the media is able to post pictures like the one I found and add questions like, "Has Miley gone too far?" or "Another Disney star going down hill?" or something like that.  With my image, I wanted to put a different spin on things, showing that there may be something wrong with Miley, but would people show concern based on what it was?  If she had a psychological disorder, like Pica Syndrome, would she be pitied or helped?
